Back to England We got up at 4.30 am to check in at the airport terminal in the hotel and catch the fly bus to the airport. It seemed quite normal to the staff to serve breakfast at 5 am.
It took about 45 minutes to drive to Keflavik and it was still dark when we arrived. There was plenty of time to look around the modern terminal and to do a spot of shopping. Our plane left at 7.50 for the two hour flight, whereupon we got a second breakfast.
This visit was wonderful and far too short – it made us determined to return and see a lot more, particularly the midnight sun and the aurora.
